The SDL1 tutorials are now deprecated and out of date. A new series of tutorials focusing on creating games in SDL2 starts today. The first tutorial in the on-going series will show how to make a simple 2D shoot 'em up. Other planned tutorials will include a platform game, a top-down Robotron-style game, and other items such as using JSON with C, creating a sprite atlas, and making and using a quadtree.
